flex banner max-width: none; width: 100%;

Post by CoHill » Tue Mar 20, 2018 11:06 am

Good day,
I have been using flexbanners with pleasure for a couple of years now. I am changing my template from bootstrapbase to helix.
I want to implement the above code (because I want to spread the banner over the whole of the screen, not just in the middle) but I can't get it right.There is no possibility in the component itself, so I have been trying in custom.css but doing:
banner:{
max-width: none;
width: 100%;
}
doesn't help. nor flexbanner, nor #banner, nor #flexbanner nor .banner nor .flexbanner
The code works, I have changed a bit of code in firebug and the banner spreads, but I can't get it right in custom. And the file that the changes point to does not help :-( because it points to a jchoptimize css file
I am not a coder; what is required to get custom.css to adjust the banner?

Do you have "Load Adverts after content" set to yes in the module? If so, turn it off. It loads the banner as a background so your CSS doesn't work on it.

It very much depends on your template but try applying the css to
.flexbanneritem img

HI,

I know that the custom.css works because I have changed the background colour of the body, and the text size of the breadcrunbs. However changing .flexbanneritem doesn't work either. Rats. I tried all three, group, item and advert.
As I mentioned I am using the Helix template, the newest.
I will try other things later, Perhaps if you have any more suggestions...?

Once again thanks for the quick reply.

PS I am doing all this on localhost before changing the live site.

You could try more specific css:
.flexbanneritem div.banner-content a img {

you're a star :D /*
Got it working with div.flexbanner img

Had to clear the cache of the admin area after saving, also the browser cache, and, very important, there was a loose /* avove somewhere blocking things.

thanks once again
